Functional Capacity and Cost of Future Care Assessments for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Trauma
Supporting Recovery, Informing Legal Outcomes
Kyi Rehabilitation provides specialized, trauma-informed occupational therapy assessments for individuals impacted by sexual assault and trauma. Our work focuses on evaluating how trauma affects daily life, function, and independence, and translating those impacts into objective, defensible recommendations that support both rehabilitation and legal outcomes.
By integrating objective functional capacity testing into our assessment process, we are able to identify a broader and more detailed range of functional limitations and care needs. Our approach results in more comprehensive, well-substantiated recommendations for both care planning and legal decision-making.
We have English and Punjabi-speaking occupational therapists available.
Core Services
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)
We conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed functional assessments to evaluate how the psychological and physical effects of trauma influence daily functioning, work capacity, and independence. These evaluations are carefully structured to prioritize safety, respect, and clinical accuracy.
Our use of standardized, performance-based functional capacity evaluation methods complements clinical interview and self-report data by providing observable measures of function. This approach supports clearer identification of functional limitations and contributes to precise, defensible conclusions.
Cost of Future Care (CFC) Reports
Our reports outline the long-term care and support needs associated with identified trauma-related impairments. These may include, but are not limited to:, therapy and counselling services, transportation, home supports, return-to-work supports, recreational supports, community services, and adaptive aids.
Each report is developed using an evidence-based approach and is designed to be clear, practical, and defensible for use within legal contexts.
Why Kyi Rehabilitation?
Comprehensive Evaluation and Reporting
Kyi Rehabilitation’s Cost of Future Care reports are grounded in objective, research-based functional capacity testing. This methodology allows us to move beyond generalized recommendations and develop highly detailed, individualized care plans based on demonstrated functional limitations.
By systematically assessing real-world performance, we are able to identify needs that may not be captured through traditional assessment approaches. The result is a more comprehensive and defensible profile of care requirements, with clear linkage between functional impairment, recommended supports, and associated costs—particularly valuable in complex or high-stakes legal cases.
Objective, Evidence-Based Methodology
Our integration of standardized functional capacity evaluation provides measurable, performance-based data that strengthens the reliability of our findings. This approach supports more detailed analysis of functional impact and contributes to more comprehensive and defensible reporting in legal contexts.
Foundation
Because our recommendations are grounded in detailed, standardized functional testing, we are able to identify a wider range of current and future care needs. This results in more comprehensive cost projections that are clearly supported by objective evidence and functional findings.
