Taking the Stand: How to be a Valuable Expert Witness in the Functional Capacity Evaluation and Cost of Future Care Fields

Presenters Min Kyi and Jodi Fischer have each been providing expert witness testimony as occupational therapists for well over 20 years. Their education session is designed for OTs interested in learning how to provide valuable expert witness testimony regarding their Functional Capacity Evaluation and Cost of Future Care reports, and handle the challenge of cross examination.

Learning Objectives – Participants will:
Be able to effectively testify regarding the purpose and findings from FCE and CFC medical-legal reports.
Learn how case law and legal requirements impact acceptance of FCE and CFC opinions.
Learn typical areas of cross examination and strategies for making trial testimony as strong as the opinions expressed in medical-legal reports.
